Minnich Jr., affectionately known as \u201cMr. Fix-It.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1327\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1327\" style=\"width: 180px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1327 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/nnycf.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Harry_Minnich_Jr-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"180\" height=\"238\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1327\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Harry Minnich Jr.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Mr. Minnich, Calcium, died in September. He owned and operated the Copper Tree Gift Shop in Watertown from 1978 to 2003 and later worked in the IT department of Marra\u2019s Homecare until 2010.Mr. Minnich was well-known for his skills in repairing everything from watches and clocks to wheelchairs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0A <em>Watertown Daily Times<\/em> article by Jim Higgins recognized Mr. Minnich, albeit unnamed, as Watertown\u2019s venerable Mr. Fix-It. He is described as \u201csomebody who can look at a machine or a gadget, and can understand how it works, and then fix it.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The article was headlined \u201cA Salute to My Man, The Generous Mr. Fix-it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>The annual scholarship will be awarded to students from Jefferson County who pursue vocational education or education in a trade.
