Community Foundation Announces 2019 Opportunities Through the Lighthouse Fund<\/i><\/span> <\/b><\/h3>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/b>The Lighthouse Fund at the Northern New York Community Foundation has up to $2,000 available in 2019 grant funding to support nonprofit organizations that serve Cape Vincent and Clayton residents.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 This geographic-specific charitable fund was established in 2014 as a resource to local nonprofits that provide critical programs and services to underserved and vulnerable populations in the two St. Lawrence River communities. Nonprofit organizations that conduct programs, projects or initiatives to assist all residents in need are encouraged to apply.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 In 2018, three projects were awarded grant funding. The recipients were: Cape Vincent Food Pantry<\/b> to augment support for its mission; Clayton Council of Churches Food Pantry<\/b> to purchase nutritious foods; and the Cape Vincent Improvement League<\/b> to acquire seeds and new soaker hoses for a community garden. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 The deadline to submit proposals for consideration is Friday, April 19, 2019<\/b>. Awards will be announced\u00a0<\/span>following the Community Foundation\u2019s quarterly board meeting in June.
