Funding Available to Support Live Orchestral Music Performances in the Watertown Area and Tree Planting in City of Watertown<\/i><\/span> \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/b>The deadline to submit grant proposals for funding from two community-specific funds that together award up to $23,000 is this Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 The Community Foundation invites nonprofit organizations or government entities to apply for up to $20,000 in 2019 grant funding to produce live orchestral music performances in the Watertown area.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0 The concerts must take place after Sept. 1, 2019, but before July 31, 2020. The fund is made possible through the Community Foundation\u2019s Orchestral Music Fund for Watertown area performances.<\/span> Eligible organizations for this funding opportunity must have at least 20 performers and are required to have an instrumental component. Past recipients include the Orchestra of Northern New York, Trinity Concert Series, and the Northern Choral Society, among others, for their respective concert seasons or local performances in Watertown.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 Proposals must be received or postmarked by Friday, April 19, 2019, <\/b>for consideration. Awards will be announced after the Community Foundation\u2019s quarterly board meeting in June. Carolyn Whitney Fund Supports Tree Planting<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>The Northern New York Community Foundation encourages nonprofit organizations or government entities to apply for up to $3,000 in 2019 grant funding for tree planting initiatives in the City of Watertown.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 Grant support is made possible through a fund established by the estate of Carolyn Whitney. Since 2010, the Carolyn Whitney Fund at the Community Foundation has awarded more than $28,000 in grant support for 10 tree planting projects.<\/span><\/p>\n
