{"id":3181,"date":"2020-08-14T17:29:03","date_gmt":"2020-08-14T17:29:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nnycf.org\/new\/?p=3181"},"modified":"2020-08-17T21:24:48","modified_gmt":"2020-08-17T21:24:48","slug":"clifton-fine-fund-rfp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nnycf.org\/new\/clifton-fine-fund-rfp\/","title":{"rendered":"Clifton-Fine Community Fund Welcomes Grant Proposals for 2020 Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\"><i>Applications for Up to $6,000 in Available Funding Due Tuesday, Aug. 25<\/i><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p3\"><b><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>WATERTOWN<\/b><span class=\"s4\"><b> \u2014 <\/b><\/span>Nonprofit organizations that serve residents of the Clifton-Fine region in St. Lawrence County may now apply for 2020 grant funding from the <b>Clifton-Fine Community Fund<\/b> of the Northern New York Community Foundation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>The fund supports projects, activities, and initiatives that enhance the quality of life for residents of <b>Cranberry Lake<\/b>, <b>Fine<\/b>, <b>Oswegatchie<\/b>, <b>Star Lake<\/b>, <b>Newton Falls<\/b> and <b>Wanakena<\/b>. Grant applications must be received or postmarked no later than <b>Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020<\/b>. Nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organizations are eligible and encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Successful projects or programs should advance community programs, projects and initiatives that will have yearlong, meaningful impact across the region.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3180 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/nnycf.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/CFCF_Logo.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"311\" height=\"258\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>This year, the geographic-specific fund will award up to $6,000, which includes $1,000 from the <b>Lester Allen and Stephen Moyer Fund of the Community Foundation<\/b> that supports projects in the Clifton-Fine region, with an emphasis on the Wanakena area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Five projects were awarded grants totaling $5,900 from the Clifton-Fine Community Fund last year. Grant awards also included support from the Lester Allen and Stephen Moyer Fund. The recipients were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p3\"><b>Friends of Clifton-Fine Golf Course<\/b> \u2014 $2,600 to furnish a public deck\/meeting space<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><b>Wanakena Historical Association<\/b> \u2014 $1,500 to help organize archives and collections<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><b>Cranberry Lake North Shore Hub<\/b> \u2014 $800 for two outdoor public benches at a new community center<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s7\"><b>Clifton Community Library<\/b> \u2014 $500 to support young adult classes on that encourage healthy living habits<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><b>Little Theater in the Woods<\/b> \u2014 $500 to support children\u2019s theater performance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>The Community Foundation collaborates with the Clifton-Fine region\u2019s Smart Growth Committee and the Clifton-Fine Economic Development Fund on the stewardship of applications and grants.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Contact Max DelSignore, Community Foundation assistant director, at <a href=\"mailto:max@nnycf.org\"><b>max@nnycf.org<\/b><\/a>, or <b>315-782-7110<\/b>, to obtain grant guidelines and an application or to learn more about this funding opportunity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\"><b>About the Northern New York Community Foundation<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p7\"><span class=\"s4\"><b><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/b><\/span>Since 1929, the Northern New York Community Foundation has invested in improving and enriching the quality of life for all in communities across Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p7\"><span class=\"s4\"><b><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><\/b><\/span>Through partnerships with businesses and organizations, charitable foundations, and generous families and individual donors, the Community Foundation awards grants and scholarships from an endowment and collection of funds that benefit the region.
