The online portal allows nonprofits to create an organization user profile and apply for active grant opportunities. The Foundation encourages nonprofits to set up a single user account for the organization. The portal features a simple interface that guides users through step-by-step instructions on how to apply. Most importantly, the introduction of this system aligns closely with our organizational belief in responsible stewardship of meaningful gifts from donors to support community programs and projects across the tri-county region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>The Community Foundation stewards a collection of nearly 1,000 charitable funds, many of which award competitive grant support to nonprofit organizations working to improve the quality of life for residents of Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence counties, and nearly 450 that award scholarships to high school graduates pursuing post-secondary education.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>To be eligible for Community Foundation grants, nonprofits must be classified as a 501(c)(3) organization by the IRS. Other entities may be eligible depending on the request. Nonprofits may start the process of creating a user profile <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantinterface.com\/Home\/Logon?urlkey=nnycf\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a> and explore active funding opportunities <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantinterface.com\/Process\/Apply?urlkey=nnycf\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>A series of Community Foundation grant opportunities are now open, which includes the Foundation\u2019s general grant and COVID-19 Community Support Fund programs. The second quarter deadline to apply for the Foundation\u2019s general grant program, and for each of the following grant opportunities, is <strong>Friday, April 23<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p3\"><b>Kenneth V. and Jeannette Remp Sawyer Community Fund \u2014 <\/b>Support for programs, projects and initiatives that enhance the quality of life for residents of all ages in the Boonville, Constableville, and Westernville communities. Up to $50,000 is available this year.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><b>Orchestral Fund -\u2014 <\/b>Support for live orchestral performances in the Watertown area. Eligible nonprofit organizations are required to have at least 20 performers in the group with an instrumental component.<br \/>\nUp to $20,000 is available this year.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><b>George R. Davis Fund for Lowville \u2014<\/b> Support for programs, projects and initiatives that impact the quality of life for residents in the Village and Town of Lowville. Up to $15,000 is available this year.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><b>Carolyn Whitney Fund \u2014 <\/b>Support for tree planting projects in the City of Watertown. Up to $4,000<br \/>\nis available this year.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><b>The Lighthouse Fund \u2014 <\/b>Support to nonprofit organizations providing services to disadvantaged and vulnerable populations in the Cape Vincent and Clayton communities. Up to $2,000 is available this year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Additional grant opportunities through the Community Foundation will become available on the GLM platform in the coming months.
