{"id":4148,"date":"2021-07-26T14:38:12","date_gmt":"2021-07-26T14:38:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nnycf.org\/new\/?p=4148"},"modified":"2021-07-26T14:38:42","modified_gmt":"2021-07-26T14:38:42","slug":"clifton-fine-rfp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nnycf.org\/new\/clifton-fine-rfp\/","title":{"rendered":"Clifton-Fine Community Fund Welcomes Proposals for 2021 Grant Support"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\"><i>Applications for up to $6,000 in Available Funding Due Friday, August 27<\/i><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><b>FINE \u2014 <\/b>Nonprofit organizations that serve residents of the Clifton-Fine region in St. Lawrence County may now apply online for 2021 grant funding from the<b> Clifton-Fine Community Fund<\/b> of the Northern New York Community Foundation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>The fund supports projects, activities, and initiatives that enhance the quality of life for residents of <b>Cranberry<\/b> <b>Lake<\/b>, <b>Fine<\/b>, <b>Oswegatchie<\/b>, <b>Star Lake<\/b>, <b>Newton Falls<\/b> and <b>Wanakena<\/b>. Successful projects or programs should advance community programs, projects, and initiatives that will have yearlong, meaningful impact across the region.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-3180 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/nnycf.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/CFCF_Logo.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"327\" height=\"271\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>All organizations applying for funding must do so by <b>Friday, Aug. 27, 2021<\/b>, through the Community Foundation\u2019s online Grant Lifecycle Manager, which may be accessed at <b>nnycf.org\/grants<\/b>. Nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organizations are eligible and encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>This year, the geographic-specific fund will award up to $6,000.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Five projects were awarded grants totaling $6,000 from the Clifton-Fine Community Fund last year. Grant awards also included support from the Lester Allen and Stephen Moyer Fund. The recipients were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><b>Clifton-Fine Central School Backpack Program \u2014 <\/b>$1,972 to support an angel tree to build school spirit.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><b>Cranberry Lake North Shore Hub \u2014<\/b> $1,700 to fund services to help rebuild a shoreline break wall.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><b>Cranberry Lake Fire &amp; Rescue Department \u2014<\/b> $1,400 to purchase two automated cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) devices.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><b>Clifton-Fine Lions Club \u2014 <\/b>$828 to acquire two adult and two bariatric wheelchairs for patient transport.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><b>Clifton-Fine Economic Development Corp. \u2014 <\/b>$100 for stewardship and increased awareness of the Clifton-Fine Community Fund.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>The Community Foundation collaborates with the Clifton-Fine region\u2019s Smart Growth Committee and the Clifton-Fine Economic Development Fund on the stewardship of applications and grants. Multiple funding requests are likely to receive grant support. Requests will not be considered for work commencing prior to <b>September 28, 2021<\/b>. Grant recipients will have up to one year from the date of award to complete the project.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>The Clifton-Fine Community Fund was established at the Community Foundation in 2013 as a geographic- specific fund to support projects and programs that positively impact the quality of life in the southeast St. Lawrence County region, specifically in the six towns and hamlets of Fine, Oswegatchie, Star Lake, Newton Falls, Wanakena and Cranberry Lake. The fund aims to enhance the quality of life for all who live in the region while maximizing the opportunity for residents to give where they live.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>The Northern New York Community Foundation stewards this charitable fund. To build initial support, the Foundation awarded a $50,000 challenge grant to donors interested in giving to this philanthropic resource. By the end of 2014, people from across the region came together to create a $100,000 community fund that will award grants to support local projects and nonprofit organizations in perpetuity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Since 2014, the Community Fund has awarded more than two-dozen organizations nearly $50,000 to support 45 projects and initiatives.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\"><b>About the Northern New York Community Foundation<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Since 1929, the Northern New York Community Foundation has invested in improving and enriching the quality of life for all in communities across Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence counties.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Through partnerships with businesses and organizations, charitable foundations, and generous families and individual donors, the Community Foundation awards grants and scholarships from an endowment and collection of funds that benefit the region.
