The renovated space will allow the agency to offer additional programming at their Utica Boulevard site. The board also agreed to a $5,000 grant to establish an endowment fund for the organization to be administered by the Community Foundation. The Dyson Foundation has also agreed to match the Community Foundation\u2019s commitment with another $5,000 for Double Play\u2019s endowment, for a total of $10,000.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe continue to be impressed with all that Double Play has been striving to do to impact Lowville and Lewis County. By providing both a grant for immediate needs and long-term needs, we hope to be able to continue our investment in their efforts,\u201d said Rande S. Richardson, Community Foundation director. \u201cWe are especially grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with the Dyson Foundation to maximize the overall support for Double Play,\u201d Mr. Richardson said. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Other grants recently approved are:<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Orchestra of Northern New York, Potsdam<\/strong> &#8211; <strong>$15,000<\/strong> to support their 2016-17 concert series.<\/li>\n<li><strong>North Country Arts Council, Watertown &#8211; $5,000<\/strong> to help conduct an organizational assessment and board development process.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Trinity Concert Series, Watertown &#8211; $5,000<\/strong> to support their 2016-17 performances.<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<li><strong>City of Watertown &#8211; $3,000<\/strong> to assist with fall tree planting projects in the city of Watertown. <em>This is made possible, in part, by the Carolyn Whitney Fund and the Walker Tree Fund<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<li><strong>Northern New York Art Trail &#8211; $2,500<\/strong> in support of the trail\u2019s \u201cOpen Studio Weekend\u201d tour across Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties this fall.<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<li><strong>Northern Choral Society &#8211; $1,000<\/strong> to assist with orchestral support for its Christmas concert performances in December.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Northern New York Community Foundation makes grants to support the work of non-profit organizations and provides scholarships to individuals in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence Counties.
