Opportunity for $5,000 in Funding Open to All Tri-County Nonprofit Organizations<\/i><\/span><\/h3>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>WATERTOWN \u2014 <\/b>Nonprofit organizations that serve residents of Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence counties are encouraged to apply for the 2022 Watertown Sunrise Rotary Foundation Taste of the Town grant as the one-day community event returns to Jefferson Community College for the first time since 2019. The Watertown Sunrise Rotary Club Foundation is a charitable fund of the Northern New York Community Foundation.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>\u201cWe are thrilled to safely bring this event back to an in-person format after the COVID-19 pandemic forced us to cancel it the past two years,\u201d said Kraig Everard, Watertown Sunrise Rotary Club president. \u201cWe encourage all eligible North Country nonprofits to apply for grant support. Watertown Sunrise Rotary\u2019s mission is \u2018Service Above Self.\u2019 By offering local nonprofit organizations this one-time grant, Sunrise Rotary creates a lasting partnership with them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>This is the fifth year that a North Country nonprofit will be awarded a competitive grant. It is also the fourth year Watertown Sunrise Rotary has exclusively produced a Taste the of the Town event, returning for its 19th year with an in-person event slated for Saturday, April 23, 2022<\/b>, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.<\/b> at the Jefferson Community College McVean Center Gymnasium<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>The deadline to submit a proposal for consideration is Monday, April 4, 2022<\/b>. Applicants should focus on projects or initiatives that address community needs. All grant applications must be submitted online through the Northern New York Community Foundation\u2019s Grant Portal at nnycf.org\/grants<\/b><\/a>. Click the button \u201cAccess the Grant Lifecycle Manager Portal.\u201d<\/b> Do not mail or email your application; simply follow the instructions in the online application.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>The organization selected for a grant will be announced at the conclusion of this year\u2019s Taste of the Town event. Local food lovers are invited to <\/span>taste samples from participating restaurants during the one-day, single location event and cast a vote for their favorite. The event will be held in compliance with ongoing COVID-19 safety precautions for events in large venues. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Restaurants that would like to participate in Taste of the Town may reserve a spot today and register online at tasteofthetownnny.com<\/b><\/a>\u00a0<\/b>or email tasteofthetownnny@gmail.com<\/b><\/a> to learn more. About Sunrise Rotary and Taste of the Town<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Taste of the Town is a Watertown Sunrise Rotary annual event that offers the public an opportunity to \u201ctaste\u201d a variety of food and beverage items from dozens of local restaurants, caterers, wineries, and other food and beverage businesses. Each year, more than 1,000 people participate in the event to sample cuisine from locally owned and nationally franchised food establishments. The event is also a fundraiser that helps to support North Country nonprofits.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Proceeds from this family-fun event provide funding for Watertown Sunrise Rotary and a North Country nonprofit organization that, through a competitive grant application, is awarded a Watertown Sunrise Rotary Foundation Taste of the Town grant.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Watertown Sunrise Rotary\u2019s main objective is service to the community, in the workplace, and around the globe. Local projects funded and serviced by the club include playgrounds, park beautification, a summer camp for developmentally challenged children, holiday parties for underprivileged children, support of local scholarships, and various nonprofit and community donations.<\/span><\/p>\n
