Applications must be made through the Foundation\u2019s online scholarship portal accessed at <a href=\"https:\/\/nnycf.org\/new\"><strong>nnycf.org<\/strong><\/a>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Next Wednesday is also the deadline for a handful of unique scholarship opportunities at the Community Foundation, including:<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3748\" src=\"https:\/\/nnycf.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Graduates_1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nnycf.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Graduates_1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/nnycf.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Graduates_1-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/nnycf.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Graduates_1-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/nnycf.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Graduates_1-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/nnycf.org\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Graduates_1-2048x1365.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><b>Evergreen STEM Scholarship \u2014 <\/b>Members of the class of 2023 \u2014 current high school juniors \u2014 who live in St. Lawrence County and plan to study and work in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics fields must complete applications through the Community Foundation\u2019s online scholarship portal by Tuesday, June 1, for the Evergreen STEM Scholarship. Ten scholarship recipients will be named this summer and presented with the scholarships upon graduation from high school as they head to college.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><b>Jefferson County Sons of the American Legion Brian A. L\u2019Huillier Memorial Scholarship \u2014 <\/b>Established by his family, this scholarship honors the life and legacy of Brian A. L\u2019Huillier, who was a General Brown Central and BOCES graduate. He was an adult education instructor for many years at BOCES. Brian passed away unexpectedly 1999 at the age of 40. Applicants must be Jefferson County residents who are either a child, grandchild, stepchild or adopted child of a current or deceased member in good standing of the Jefferson County Sons of the American Legion, American Legion or Auxiliary. Jefferson County students are encouraged to apply through the Foundation\u2019s online scholarship portal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><\/span><b>Rebecca Rhodes Memorial Scholarship \u2014 <\/b>Established by her family, this scholarship honors the life and memory of Rebecca A.G. Rhodes, a gifted geology student who, at the time of her passing, was graduating with an advanced degree in geological engineering. Jefferson County undergraduate students pursuing studies in the <span class=\"s2\">STEM sciences, especially geology, are encouraged to apply through the Foundation\u2019s online scholarship portal.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><b>Timothy F. Wright Memorial Scholarship \u2014 <\/b>Established in 2011 after his sudden passing, this scholarship honors Tim\u2019s legacy of positive community giving through educational support. It is awarded annually to graduating seniors from Carthage, Copenhagen, or Lowville high schools who plan to attend Jefferson Community College and major in business and or technology.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Students pursuing graduate studies focused on the environment and music are also reminded to apply by June 1 for the following opportunities:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><b>Vici and Steve Diehl Foundation Graduate Scholarships \u2014 <\/b>This Community Foundation affiliate fund offers scholarships to students pursuing graduate degrees in environmental studies or music. Applicants must have graduated from a high school in Jefferson, Lewis, or St. Lawrence county and should apply through the Community Foundation\u2019s online scholarship portal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Students can apply online for all available opportunities using the same 2022-23 Scholarship Application. <span class=\"s1\">The application portal may be accessed from the Foundation\u2019s home page at <a href=\"https:\/\/nnycf.org\/new\"><b>nnycf.org<\/b><\/a> by clicking on the scholarship button, which directs users to the application portal. Students should thoroughly read all application instructions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Since 1980, the Community Foundation has provided more than $21 million in scholarship awards to students who live in the tri-county region.
