{"id":4921,"date":"2022-08-18T14:21:55","date_gmt":"2022-08-18T14:21:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nnycf.org\/new\/?p=4921"},"modified":"2022-08-18T14:22:53","modified_gmt":"2022-08-18T14:22:53","slug":"2022-north-side-legacy-scholars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nnycf.org\/new\/2022-north-side-legacy-scholars\/","title":{"rendered":"North Side Legacy Fund Scholarships Support Four Students with Strong Family Ties to Former League"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\"><i>$2<\/i><\/span><span class=\"s3\"><i>,<\/i><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><i>000 Awarded to Help Students Pursue Post-Secondary Educational Goals<\/i><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><b>WATERTOWN \u2014<\/b> The <b>North Side Legacy Fund of the Northern New York Community Foundation<\/b> recently presented four members of the Class of 2022 with scholarships totaling $2,000 to support their post-secondary educational pursuits.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>The North Side Legacy Fund was established in 2019 as a permanent fund of the Northern New York Community Foundation to forever honor and perpetuate the history and heritage of the North Side Improvement League.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Graduating high school seniors who live in the City of Watertown as well as students from other areas who have family ties to the League were encouraged to apply.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Scholarship recipients are Watertown-area residents and students with family ties to the North Side Improvement League who will enroll this fall in a post-secondary educational program. Recipients of this one-year award each received $500 and were selected based on combined test scores, cumulative high school GPA, rank in class, personal data, essay scores, and applicant appraisals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>\u201cSince this fund was established, we have heard from individuals who have had meaningful connections to the League\u2019s history.
