Watertown Sunrise Rotary is committed to \u2018Service Above Self.\u2019 By offering local nonprofit organizations this one-time grant support, Sunrise Rotary creates an enduring and meaningful partnership with them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img class=\\\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-6247\\\" src=\\\"https:\/\/nnycf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/TOT_Logo_2024-1024x462.png\\\" alt=\\\"\\\" width=\\\"1024\\\" height=\\\"462\\\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\\\"p3\\\"><span class=\\\"Apple-converted-space\\\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>This is the seventh year that a North Country nonprofit will be awarded a competitive grant. It is also the sixth year Watertown Sunrise Rotary has exclusively produced a Taste of the Town event, returning for its 21st year with an in-person event slated for <b>Saturday, April 27, 2024<\/b>, from <b>11 a.m. to 2 p.m.<\/b> in the <b>Jefferson Community College McVean Student Center Gymnasium<\/b>. Event admission is $3 per person, $2 for military and children, and free for children under 10. Tasting tickets are $1 each or $12 for 10 and $20 for 25.<\/p>\n<p class=\\\"p3\\\"><span class=\\\"Apple-converted-space\\\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>The deadline to submit a proposal for consideration is <b>Friday, March 29, 2024<\/b>. Applicants should focus on projects or initiatives that address ongoing or emerging community needs. All grant applications must be submitted online through the Northern New York Community Foundation\u2019s Grant Portal at <b>nnycf.org\/grants<\/b>. Click the button <b>\u201cAccess the Grant Lifecycle Manager Portal.\u201d<\/b> Do not mail or email your application; simply follow the instructions in the online application.<\/p>\n<p class=\\\"p3\\\"><span class=\\\"Apple-converted-space\\\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>The <b>Victims Assistance Center of Jefferson County<\/b> was awarded the 2023 Taste of the Town Grant to support essential needs for its Fresh Start Project.<\/p>\n<p class=\\\"p3\\\"><span class=\\\"Apple-converted-space\\\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>The organization selected for a grant will be announced at the conclusion of this year\u2019s Taste of the Town event. Local food lovers are invited to taste samples from participating restaurants during the one-day, single location event and cast a vote for their favorite.<\/p>\n<p class=\\\"p3\\\"><span class=\\\"Apple-converted-space\\\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Restaurants interested in participating in Taste of the Town may reserve a spot today and register online at <a href=\\\"http:\/\/www.tasteofthetownnny.com\\\"><b>tasteofthetownnny.com<\/b><\/a> or email <a href=\\\"mailto:tasteofthetownnny@gmail.com\\\"><b>tasteofthetownnny@gmail.com<\/b><\/a> to learn more. There is <b>no fee <\/b>for participating restaurants.<\/p>\n<p class=\\\"p3\\\"><span class=\\\"Apple-converted-space\\\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Restaurants and food vendors have a chance to win one of the coveted \u201cBest of Taste of the Town\u201d awards and will be greeted by hundreds of attendees eager to taste samples. Each restaurant or vendor is asked to provide a small sampling of a dish or dishes or beverage of their choice. Each year, nearly 1,000 people participate in the event to sample cuisine from locally owned and nationally franchised food establishments.
