Up to $10,000 Available for Nonprofits Serving Southern Jefferson County Residents<\/i><\/span><\/h3>\n

\u00a0\u00a0<\/span> \u00a0 <\/span>ADAMS \u2014 <\/b>Nonprofit organizations serving southern Jefferson County residents may now apply for up to $10,000 in grant funding through the Six Town Community Fund<\/b> of the Northern New York <\/span>Community Foundation.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>This geographic fund provides support for local projects, programs, and initiatives that enhance the quality of life in the towns of Adams<\/b>, Ellisburg<\/b>, Henderson<\/b>, Lorraine<\/b>, Rodman<\/b>, and Worth<\/b>. Eligible organizations must actively serve residents of these communities. Requests may focus on assisting with local needs related to health and wellness, families and youth, arts and culture, history, education and more.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>All organizations applying for funding must do so by Friday, Oct. 24, 2025<\/b>, through the Foundation\u2019s online Grant Lifecycle Manager, which may be accessed at bit.ly\/grant-portal<\/b><\/a>. Nonprofit organizations with a 501(c)(3) classification are eligible and invited to apply. Funding decisions will be determined in December and announced shortly thereafter.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Last year, five nonprofit organizations shared $7,500 in Six Town Community Fund grant support. The Historical Association of South Jefferson was awarded $2,500 to help replace windows in the Ripley House on the association\u2019s Church Street campus; Adams Free Library received $2,000 to help purchase two new computers; Henderson Harbor Water Sports Programs was awarded $1,000 to help provide swimming and boater safety courses; South Jefferson Central School District received $1,000 to help launch a community book study to empower local youth; and the Volunteer Transportation Center Foundation was awarded $1,000 to support mileage reimbursement for volunteer drivers who provide essential medical transportation for Six Town residents.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>The Six Town Community Fund was established in 2013 through the generosity of many donors as a permanent, charitable resource to support nonprofits serving southern Jefferson County. Since the fund began awarding grants in 2015, it has provided nearly $55,000 in support to assist with 51 different community service projects and programs. These have included community improvement projects, youth programs, new events, equipment purchases, and facility upgrades. Projects are evaluated based on their overall community benefit, effective use of grant money, and the ability of the applicant to successfully implement the project.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Six Town Community Fund Chair Karen Denny<\/b> encouraged all eligible organizations to consider applying for funding support for efforts that strengthen the quality of life across the Six Town area.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>\u201cWe are proud to make this vital community resource available to the many nonprofit organizations that serve southern Jefferson County residents,\u201d Mrs. Denny said. \u201cOur grant review committee looks forward to evaluating meaningful proposals that help improve the quality of life in the Six Town region.\u201d<\/p>\n
