The board-approved grant will help enhance the offerings provided at community food pantries, thrift stores and soup kitchens in the region. The Foundation provides annual support to organizations operating with an official partnership with the Food Bank of Central New York. Over 50 organizations will receive funding through this grant.<\/p>\n<p>The Food Bank of Central New York has also introduced a school-based food pantry program that is being piloted at four schools: Watertown City School District, Thousand Islands Central School, Clifton-Fine Central School, and Heuvelton Central School.<\/p>\n<p>These grants are made possible, in part, through the Emma Phoebe Hurd Fund at the Foundation, and supporters of the \u201cFriends of the Foundation Community Betterment Fund.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCommunity Foundation donors are helping make a difference all across the North Country. This is a grant that a difference in communities large and small. It also continues to strengthen our partnerships with the individual food pantries and the Food Bank of Central New York, that do so much to help our region,\u201d said Rande S.
