Rande joined the team in 2009. He provides strategic guidance for all facets of Community Foundation operations and, together with the board of directors, advances the organization’s work and mission. He is honored to partner with our stakeholders to build a better community in meaningful and enduring ways. A lifelong Northern New York resident with Jefferson and St. Lawrence County roots, he is a former licensed funeral director and college development officer and the father of two lacrosse goalie sons.

Max joined the team in 2013. He creates and implements a variety of tailored charitable giving plans that accomplish each donor’s philanthropic goals now and in the future. He also oversees the organization’s grantmaking, scholarship, and leadership programs that impact Northern New York. Max is happy to discuss how to start a charitable fund, giving options for donors, resources for advisors, and where local philanthropy can have the greatest reach.

Steve joined the team in 2023. He is responsible for the management and oversight of all financial and investment activities of the Community Foundation. Steve provides strategic financial leadership to the Foundation and works to ensure charitable assets are responsibly stewarded to meet the Foundation’s needs now and into the future. Michele joined the team in 2015. She manages the Community Foundation's daily financial operations, overseeing accounting, investments, payroll, financial reporting, fund administration, and the stewardship of charitable assets. She works closely with donors, fundholders, nonprofit organizations, financial advisors, auditors, and vendors to ensure the Foundation's financial resources are managed with accuracy, transparency, and integrity. Michele is happy to answer your questions about charitable contributions, fund distributions, stock and other complex gifts, agency funds, scholarships and grant payments, fund statements, and other financial or administrative matters related to the Community Foundation.

Ken joined the team in 2018. He leads the Community Foundation’s communications strategy that grows awareness of its work and mission across Northern New York. Ken guides the Foundation’s brand management to external audiences while overseeing media relations and producing print, digital, and social media. He is happy to respond to media inquiries and answer questions regarding overall communications and any of our public facing digital or print content.

Kraig joined the team in 2020. He leads the Community Foundation’s grantmaking, nonprofit partnerships, and community leadership initiatives across Northern New York. He works with nonprofits, donors, fundholders, and advisory committees to align charitable resources with community needs and guide funding decisions that create meaningful impact. Kraig is happy to discuss project ideas, nonprofit agency funds, charitable funds, and opportunities that align with the Grants for Good program.
