Community Foundation Names Recipient of 2017-18 Jefferson Leadership Institute Scholarship
The Northern New York Community Foundation has awarded a full-tuition scholarship to a nonprofit organization with fewer than 25 employees to enable their participation in the Greater Watertown-North Country Chamber of Commerce’s Jefferson Leadership Institute (JLI). The 2017-18 recipient is Jordan B. Walker, executive director of the Jefferson County Historical Society.
“This is an additional way we can support the health of our smaller nonprofit organizations and their leaders as an extension of our grantmaking efforts,” said Rande S. Richardson, Community Foundation executive director.
“The Jefferson County Historical Society is beyond grateful to have received the Community Foundation Scholarship for the JLI Program. We hope that JLI will help our institution form stronger synergies with other nonprofits and businesses, and furthermore, aid our overall professional development and community outreach initiatives,” said Ms. Walker.
Grant Applications Available For Six Town Community Fund
Local non-profit organizations and community groups in the southern Jefferson County towns of Adams, Ellisburg, Henderson, Lorraine, Rodman, and Worth are encouraged to apply for a grant from the Six Town Community Fund. The charitable fund is administered by the Northern New York Community Foundation and supports projects and activities that enhance the quality of life in the targeted communities. Over $30,000 in Grants to Support Community Projects
The Northern New York Community Foundation announces the following quality of life grants recently approved by its board of directors. “Community Foundation donors, past and present, have enabled us to invest in the types of things that make a community a great place to live.
