Non-profits organizations providing vital programs and services to citizens in the town of Clayton are encouraged to submit a grant application for consideration to receive support through the Dale Kenyon Community Fund. This geographic-specific fund was created in 2013 as a component fund administered by the Northern New York Community Foundation.
The Dale Kenyon Community Fund is designed to award grants annually to non-profit agencies enhancing the quality of life for residents in the town of Clayton. Three organizations received support totaling $5,000 in 2015. The recipients were:
- Clayton Council of Churches Food Pantry – $3,000 for support of the local food pantry.
- Thousand Islands Performing Arts Fund/Clayton Opera House – $1,500 to assist with costs associated with the area’s Clayton Jazz Festival performances.
- Depauville Free Library – $500 to enhance the organization’s seed library program. This year, $5,000 in grant funding is available. - The Northern New York Community Foundation makes grants to support the work of non-profit organizations and provides scholarships to individuals in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence Counties. The Foundation has been built and added to from gifts (both while living and through legacy plans) by individuals and organizations committed to meeting the changing needs of Northern New York, as well as supporting specific charitable interests and passions.
