About Jake Ladouceur
Jacob “Jake” Marc Ladouceur grew up as a three-sport athlete who excelled in the classroom and on the playing field in soccer, hockey, and golf. After graduating from Norwood-Norfolk High School in 2009, Jake matriculated at Clarkson University, graduating with honors in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in business.
He passed away unexpectedly at the age of 29 in January 2021 following an auto accident in Queensbury, N.Y. Jake left behind his family, friends, and two communities, both of which he had a significant impact on in his short life.
After college, Jake worked as an insurance agent, most recently for Macfadden-Dier in Canton. Jake dedicated countless hours in local hockey rinks coaching as a volunteer. His coaching resume includes work with his alma-mater, Norwood-Norfolk High School, the Canton Bears 14U team and the Canton High School team.
Jake was a fantastic leader and example for local youth. During his four-year varsity hockey career, he earned League MVP honors, leading his league in goals and points with only a handful of penalty minutes. He was also named an All- North honoree in soccer, hockey, and golf, and an All-State selectee in hockey.
Beyond sharing his knowledge of hockey as a coach, Jake earned the respect of players and parents alike, greeting everyone at the rink with his infectious smile and tireless energy. At such a young age, Jake was a special person in the communities he lived and worked in and was always willing to help others while asking for nothing in return.
