Up to $2,000 Available to Help Antwerp Children Reach their Full Potential
ANTWERP — Nonprofit organizations serving children who live in the Town or Village of Antwerp may apply for up to $2,000 in funding from the newly established Antwerp Children’s Services Fund of the Northern New York Community Foundation.
Antwerp native Terry Hull recently partnered with the Community Foundation to create a charitable resource that benefits children who live in his hometown by strengthening opportunities for positive child and youth development.
The Antwerp Children’s Services Fund supports programs and services that help every Antwerp child reach their full potential by enhancing health, educational, social, and recreational opportunities. Grant funding is available to support programs, projects, and initiatives of nonprofit organizations that serve children in the Town and Village of Antwerp.
Successful applicants will focus their projects on the nutritional, health, social, educational, and recreational services to Antwerp’s children and support efforts to fill gaps and enhance those services.
In partnering with the Community Foundation, Mr. Hull aims to ensure that every Antwerp child will grow to reach his or her full potential while strengthening the resilience of the community and enhancing services to its children.
“Community Foundations are uniquely positioned work alongside donors to support what they care about most. It has been an honor to partner with Mr. Hull to focus on a specific need within a certain geographic
area and help find the best ways to make a difference for the children of Antwerp now and in the future,” said Rande S. Richardson, Community Foundation executive director.
Eligible nonprofit organizations seeking support should submit proposals by Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, for consideration. Organizations that do not have 501(c)(3) classification are required to partner with an eligible nonprofit, municipality, or local agency as a fiscal sponsor. Agencies seeking funding must confirm partnership with an eligible nonprofit or fiscal sponsor when submitting a proposal.
All grant applications must be completed through the Community Foundation’s online grant portal, which may be accessed at bit.ly/grant-portal. Grant awards will be determined in March and, in most cases, announced no later than April 15.
An advisory committee of the Antwerp Children’s Services Fund will review grant applications and recommend funding. Committee members include Shelly Brinson, village trustee; Jenna Brownell, town parent; Stacey Albro, Broken Arrow Ranch owner; Liz Filkins, village parent; Claire Brownell, town councilwoman; Bailey Filkins, youth member; Betsy Munroe, child services; and Stephanie Widrick, Antwerp Primary School Principal.
