Canton Community Fund Grant Supports Yoga Loft Project

Funding Will Help Canton Nonprofit Renovate New Miner Street Facility

     CANTON — The Canton Community Fund has awarded a grant of $2,000 to Canton’s Yoga Loft to help the nonprofit wellness center renovate its new facility at 21 Miner St.

     The renovations will add classroom space, enhance accessibility and improve signage, among other advantages. Yoga Loft officials hope to move into the new, remodeled space this summer.

Up to $10,000 Available for Nonprofits that Serve the Village, Town of Lowville

George R. Davis Fund for Lowville Announces 2020 Funding Opportunities

    Nonprofit organizations that serve residents in the Village and Town of Lowville are encouraged to apply for 2020 grant funding through the George R. Davis Fund for Lowville of the Northern New York Community Foundation.

    Mr. Davis was a longtime Lowville resident and served as a Lewis County judge for more than 20 years. This permanent charitable fund for the community became active following his death in 2010. This year, up to $10,000 is available in grant funding through this community fund to support programs, projects and initiatives that seek to improve the quality of life in Lowville.

Community Foundation Sets Series of Grant Information Sessions

Nonprofit Organizations Serving Tri-County Residents Encouraged to Attend

    WATERTOWN — The Northern New York Community Foundation will host a series of information sessions to connect tri-county nonprofit organizations with opportunities for grant funding and partnerships that impact nonprofit capacity and sustainability.

    All nonprofit organizations, including new and seasoned grant applicants are encouraged to attend. Each session will feature funding opportunities, best practices, and ample time to ask questions.

Up to $30,000 in Funding Available to Nonprofits in Three Communities

Kenneth V. and Jeannette Remp Sawyer Community Fund Seeks 2020 Grant Proposals

     WATERTOWN — Nonprofit organizations that serve residents of Boonville, Constableville and Westernville are encouraged to apply for 2020 grant funding through the Kenneth V. and Jeannette Remp Sawyer Community Fund at the Northern New York Community Foundation.

     The fund was established in 2018 to support programs, projects and initiatives that broadly impact the quality of life in Boonville, Constableville and Westernville. The Northern New York Community Foundation administers this permanent, charitable legacy fund that makes grant awards annually. This year, up to $30,000 in funding is available.

John & Dorotha VanNess Family Fund Supports Potsdam Nonprofits

First Grant Awards Aid North Country Children’s Museum, Potsdam Holiday Fund

    POTSDAM — The John and Dorotha VanNess Family Fund of the Northern New York Community Foundation recently made its first grant awards to two nonprofit organizations that support the quality of life and vibrancy of the Potsdam area.

John and Dorotha VanNess

    The North Country Children’s Museum, Potsdam, received a $2,500 award to purchase kits for its STEAM learning opportunities. A group of educators with a collective vision to create a cultural and educational center for North Country families formed the museum in 2012.

    The Potsdam Holiday Fund received $500 to support its “Santa’s Workshop” program. Each year, the Potsdam Holiday Fund helps to make the holidays happier for hundreds of local families.

Working with donors to benefit the community through grants and scholarships since 1929.

We are pleased to announce a $10,000 grant package to support this year’s Concert in the Park event.

Total funding includes an initial $5,000 grant and an up to $5,000 matching grant commitment to support first time contributions for this year’s concert. That means the Community Foundation will double all new gifts made in support of this year’s performance by those who have not previously participated.

Are you a young leader in your school or community?

The Northern New York Community Foundation is now accepting applications for service on its Youth Philanthropy Council from all Jefferson County rising sophomores and juniors.

This is the second year the Community Foundation will welcome applications from students attending any of the county’s 13 public and private schools, as well as home-schooled students, provided they reside in a Jefferson County school district.

Applications must be submitted by Friday, May 29, to Emily Pfeil, Community Foundation philanthropy associate. Contact Ms. Pfeil at emily@nnycf.org or 315-782-7110 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays to obtain an application and learn more.

The Brasher Falls High School robotics team, St. Lawrence Slc Stingerz FTC 13359, are so very grateful to be receiving this generous award. We appreciate all of the support that the Northern New York Community Foundation has given us! We will be heading to Fayetteville-Manlius High School over spring break to complete in a fun “Balloon Battle Bot Bash”.
