Boonville Residents Will Soon Have Pedestrian Route to Nearby Grocery Store
BOONVILLE — More than $3,000 in grant support from the Kenneth V. and Jeannette Remp Sawyer Community Fund of the Northern New York Community Foundation will help officials in the Village of Boonville continue complete a walking trail that connects the downtown district to a local grocery store.
A $3,500 grant will help the village create a walking pathway for residents to avoid traffic and safely reach the nearest grocery store. Boonville’s lone downtown grocery store closed in 2019. The Sawyer Community Fund grant assisted with purchase of remaining stone and bridge and decking materials to finish the path.
